The care and support services that Bright Futures Semi Independent Living offers to clients who are 18 years of age and older are described in this Statement of Purpose. This document gives a broad summary of our organisation's structure, the services we offer, and the policies and procedures we've put in place to carry out the specified service.

Bright Futures Semi Independent Living With the assistance of social workers, a qualified and experienced mentor who has accumulated solid knowledge of clients' needs in both the criminal justice and social care systems has established Independent Living.

ABOUT US

Bright Futures Semi Independent Living was founded to provide targeted, sustainable housing and support services for young people who are vulnerable, all with the goal of providing customised, client-centred services.

The provision of services will be under the general control of the Registered Manager (RM). In order to guarantee that each service user receives the appropriate level and calibre of support or care, the RM will actively participate in the service's delivery and the oversight of all service users and care plans with the assistance of designated deputy managers.

All pertinent and interested parties are welcome to view our Statement of Purpose, but please be aware that it only provides an overview of our organisational structure, culture, and service offerings; it should be read in conjunction with our more comprehensive policies and procedures.

The service's goals and objectives

  • Assistance in making well-informed decisions about their lives;

  • Involvement in all facets of service provision for service users.

  • Excellent care will be provided in the homes of service recipients.

  • To establish a way of life that will support and strengthen individual autonomy, personal choice, and general well-being;

  • To establish a setting in which every person is respected.

In addition to providing stable and safe housing, Bright Futures Semi Independent Living is run and managed by qualified foster carers and property management experts who are aware of the demands, deadlines, and pressures placed on local authorities. This approach to care for vulnerable young people is unique and comprehensive. The goal of bright futures  is to collaborate with designated professionals to support the assessment, planning, intervention, and monitoring of the most difficult and vulnerable youth who are determined to be at risk of serious harm. As a result, this permits collaborative efforts with Local Authorities.

Bright Futures Semi Independent Living is able to conduct and oversee the completion of Age Assessments, Care Plans and Pathway Plans, Parenting Assessments, Child and Family Single Assessments, and Assessments on behalf of the local authority. At Bright Futures Semi Independent Living, we operate as a family-run, results-oriented organisation that effectively attends to the needs of our clients while providing all of our services to the highest standards because we always keep the young people we work with front and centre in our minds.

PURPOSE

Bright Futures Semi Independent Living offers outreach to both sexes, ages 18 and up, by providing semi-independent housing and support. The units are suitable for both short-term and long-term placements, as well as last-minute placements. The goal is to provide young people who are not living with their parents with a structured, safe, and nurturing environment as they get ready to live on their own. The goal of Bright Futures Semi Independent Living is to make sure that the adolescents entrusted to our care have the necessary life skills to lead autonomous, satisfying lives when they leave our care, forming solid bonds and relationships along the way.

TARGET GROUP

  •  Unaccompanied minors seeking asylum who need somewhat independent housing

  • Young offenders, which includes those out on bail and those coming back into society following their release from a juvenile detention facility or secure training center.

  • Young individuals who could be exploited sexually as children.

  • Young people who are at risk of becoming members of gangs and experiencing gang violence

  • Young people who are leaving care and needing semi-independent housing with complex needs.

Goals

For the length of time determined by each young person's unique needs, the placement's goal is to give them safe, stable, and regulated environments with distinct boundaries. Bright Futures Semi Independent Living offers a package that includes support to help young people develop the skills they need to live independently and move forward on their path to greater independence.

Placement Types

  • To create support packages with a person-centred pathway for the youth enrolled in the program.

  • To ensure that every young person has a comprehensive assessment that is routinely reviewed in order to promote their safety.

  • To make it possible for the young person to meet their emotional and health needs.

  • To encourage and uphold healthy relationships that benefit the youth and help them to form their own identities, respect themselves, and take care of their own needs

  • To give the young person the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to engage and communicate with others, as well as to integrate into and positively impact the community.

  • To ensure that the young person is given the opportunity to reach their full potential by collaborating with parents, relevant adults, educators, employers, health care providers, and other professionals.

  • Encouraging young people to engage in the planning, development, and delivery of the service;

  • Giving them the freedom to make decisions in every aspect of their lives. To give care leavers and looked-after children the chance to improve their independent living skills in one-on-one and group settings. Additionally, to give care leavers a portfolio of skills to show key professionals and prospective landlords how capable they are of living independently.

Placements for a Long Term:  More than a year Extended placements: extra assistance provided to youth who have been housed for more than a year and need longer-term arrangements as well as transitional support services before moving out on their own.
Bright Futures Semi Independent Living does not take a "one size fits all" approach because we recognize that every young person has unique and changing needs.

Instead, in order to empower the young person to aim for positive outcomes, our professionals and trained support workers will work with them to explore their life experiences. The young people will benefit from our access to trained professionals and support staff as they work to change their behavior, improve their conflict-resolution skills, and gain understanding of how emotions affect their actions.

This is accomplished by working directly, keeping a close eye on things, and creating SMART goals. This will be on top of the routine reviews that the local government can use to inform its decisions and lower risk. In addition, we offer individually designed programs and emotional support based on the needs assessment of each young person.
